Yesterday afternoon I noticed one of the cactus buds was going to be opening up that night. I got the tripod out, put the camera on to see where I needed to place the tripod once the blooming began, then took the camera off and went back inside. Fast forward to 8:25 when I went back outside with the camera and LED light and got ready to shoot for the next hour or so. With the bloom being about chest high I was able to get a different angle as the flower opened up, and there weren’t any distractions from the surrounding cactus plants.
