Yesterday afternoon I noticed the bloom on the monstrose cactus flower was starting to look ready to open during the night; I wasn’t wrong. At 8:23 I went outside to throw away the days trash and saw it starting to open. I went back inside and grabbed my camera and an LED light with 2 sets of lights on it. For about the next 15 minutes I took pictures with the LED light in my left hand and camera in my right (why didn’t I think about setting up the tripod while it was still light outside?!).
Around 9:55 last night, my dog needed to go outside. I grabbed my camera and LED light again and headed back outside. By this time the flower was open more, but still not fully open as you can see by today’s photo taken at 9:56. I didn’t realize how much I missed taking flower photos at night until I got in the zone last night taking a little over 40 photos from different angles/different lighting.
