Weekend Freebie – Feb 2, 2018: Distress Oxide 2

Each weekend, starting Friday, I will be giving away something for free; to start it might only be textures, but as I get more into (digital) mixed media, it might be digital stencils, digital brushes, or even an image that you can use. I hope that you enjoy creating with the freebies.

Note: The file will expire Sunday evening at 9:30 PM (Pacific Time). The file is temporarily stored on Dropbox. If you don’t have an account, or don’t want to create one, go to the bottom of the dialog box and click on “NO thanks, continue to view”

Friday Freebie #5

Today’s freebie was created using Distressed Oxide on Photo paper. One of its cool properties, at least on photo paper, is that you can use a baby wipe to clean off the chalky look, leaving you with a multi-layered vibrant image. I scanned it in at 600 dpi so you have a high resolution image to play with. The final image size, after shrinking down a bit, is 6000 x 4000 @ 300 dpi.

If you noticed the hearts in the sample image from last weeks freebie, they were created from today’s free texture. Here’s a little something I put together today, in Affinity Photo, to show one way you can use the image.

Here’s some samples using this weeks image.

I would love to see what you create with this texture. Feel free to leave a link to where you’ve posted a picture.

You may sell any artwork you create with this texture, as long as it is not the dominant part of your artwork.

You MAY NOT sell the texture as your own or include it as part of a group/package of downloads.
